By upholding the Code of Conduct to combat the Sexual Exploitation of Children and Adolescents (ESNNA), we pledge to consistently implement a range of actions, including:
For travel agencies and tour operators like PERU HIKE E.I.R.L, we commit to this pledge by endorsing the Code of Conduct against SEC before GERCETUR. We vow to uphold the principles and responsibilities outlined in this document, as well as comply with the General Tourism Law and its regulations for preventing SEC.
We strive to raise awareness and provide training to all members of our team, including administrative, operational, and sales staff, to contribute to the elimination of SEC. Reflecting our values and legal obligations, no member of the PERU HIKE E.I.R.L team will engage in or tolerate any form of sexual commerce involving:
- Exploitation of children and adolescents in pornographic activities.
- Sex tourism.
- Trafficking of children and adolescents for commercial sexual exploitation.
Likewise, we are committed to educating and training all our stakeholders or interest groups, including guides, cooks, drivers, support staff, muleteers, rural community tourism enterprises, hotels, hostels, restaurants, and their respective staff. In line with our values and legal obligations, none of our stakeholders will engage in or accept requests related to the various forms of commercial sex involving:
- Exploitation of children and adolescents in pornographic activities.
- Sex tourism.
- Trafficking of children and adolescents for commercial sexual exploitation.
We also endorse the PERU HIKE E.I.R.L Code of Conduct for Suppliers. Through this, all stakeholders and participants across our operational value chain commit to uphold the five commitments outlined in the document and to report SEC to the appropriate authorities when necessary.
As an integral part of our Corporate Social Responsibility Policy, PERU HIKE E.I.R.L actively promotes the well-being of children in our region and country. This is achieved indirectly by generating income for families in the destinations where we operate our tourist activities and by supporting children during special occasions such as Christmas and Children’s Day, among others.
